Charles "Chuck" Joseph Gatton's Obituary
Charles “Chuck” Joseph Gatton, a devoted Christian, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and veteran, passed away peacefully in the early hours of Saturday May 16th, 2026, at the age of 90.
First and foremost, Chuck was a man of deep faith. He dedicated his life to Christ and was a faithful member of the University City Church of Christ. His commitment to his faith guided how he lived, how he loved his family, and how he treated everyone he met. Chuck served his country with honor as a veteran of the United States Air Force. Following his military service, Chuck brought his strong work ethic into the business world, where he successfully owned and operated numerous Burger King franchises, serving his local communities for many years.
Chuck was the loving husband of Beverly Gatton, with whom he shared a beautiful friendship and life built on love and shared faith. He was a proud and supportive father to his two children, Charles and Lynne.
Chuck was proceeded in death by his parents Bill and Ivy Gatton, His Siblings: Howard, William, Richard, Ivan, Thelma, and Violet. And his grandson: Judge Bradley Kaplan. His legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; his son, Charles, and his partner, Emee, along with their four children, Max, Khloe, James, and Rhae; and his daughter, Lynne, and her husband, Sander, along with their two children, Bella and Darby. As well as his sisters Carol, Sherri, Lynne, and Willa.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday. May 20, 2026, at Williams-Thomas Westarea Chapel 823 N.W. 143rd Street Newberry, Florida from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to E.T York Hospice in his memory at https://havenhospice.com/donate
