Charles “Chuck” Joseph Gatton, a devoted Christian, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and veteran, passed away peacefully in the early hours of Saturday May 16th, 2026, at the age of 90. First and foremost, Chuck was a man of Read Obituary
Such a wonderful, forgiving, generous, honorable person to know and have ever associated with.
Chuck and Beverly are two if the most wonderful people I've ever known.
I started to work for them in 1969 as one of their very first employees and for the next 35 years. I enjoyed them professionally but also as fellow Christians, very close friends, neighbors and working partners. They were always there for us.
We were so fortunate to share many years working together, as well as vacationing and traveling together. They loved their life and sharing it with others and their communities.
Though we are unable to attend today's visitation due to living in St Augustine and our own health challenges our love, hearts and prayers go out to Beverly, Lynne and Charles.

We have many fond memories ov the Gatton family, when Lynn and our Cris were at Oak Hall together. And Chuck was one of the kindest, most generous people I know. He and Beverly were always available when asked, or they saw a need. We ate many delicious BK cheeseburgers with a crowd of kids in their entertainment room upstairs.

Many years ago I had the pleasure of working with Chuck on the Retired Senior Volunteer Program Advisory Board. Chuck was kind, generous, savvy, smart and an all-around nice guy. The community will miss him. My condolences to the family.

Chuck and Beverly Gatton were 2 special people in our lives. We started out our career working for them and did so for 18 years. During that time, Chuck taught me the importance of real customer service. We had regulars comeback day after day and sometimes multiple times during the day because of the genuine care they received. I saw Chuck as an incredible businessman, good Christian man, and a man responsible for my education to the fast food industry, which has led me to where I am today. After leaving Chuck I successfully opened my own franchise of 28 years with Chick-fil-A. But would not have been able to do this correctly without the knowledge obtained from my experience with Chuck. He was a great man, a great friend and I wish I had seen him again before now. But we will see one another again one day my friend.
