Barbara Elizabeth Schulman's Obituary
Barbara Elizabeth Schulman, age 40, of Gainesville, Florida passed away Monday, September 6, 2016. She was born August 13, 1976 in Gainesville to Stephen G. Schulman and Johanna F. Tjeenk Willink.
She graduated from the University of Florida and was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands. She went to graduate school at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, where she received a Masters in Dutch History, and went on to teach history at Flagler College in St. Augustine.
After years of involvement in the Society for Creative Anachronism, she founded a company, Artemisia Design, through which she designed and sold medieval clothing.
She loved jetskiing, travel, writing, tennis, and the beach.
Barbara is survived by her mother, Johanna F. Tjeenk Willink of Gainesville; father, Stephen G. Schulman of Boynton Beach, FL; sisters, Christina Schulman of Pittsburgh, PA and Anneke Padolina (Isagani) of the Philippines; and nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
