Ann Warren Girardin's Obituary
Ann Warren Girardin passed away peacefully on June 14, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 6, 1931, in Miami, Florida to William and Elinor Warren.
Ann grew up in Jacksonville, Florida and attended Bartram School for Girls, Mount Holyoke College and graduated from the University of Florida in 1985. She obtained a master’s degree in Elementary Education and taught in the Levy County school system for twenty-three years.
Ann was a member of the Alachua County Retired Educators, Delta Kappa Gamma Honorary Society and served on the board of directors for the local united Nations Chapter.
Ann moved to Gainesville, Florida in 1970 to help establish the first local Spiritual Assembly of the Bahai’s of Gainesville. She was an active member until her recent illness.
Ann loved the opera, books, animals, gardening and her family.
Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Girardin, her parents, William and Elinor Warren and her infant daughter, Janet Leah Farrell.
She is survived by her brother, John M. Warren (Beverly) of Jacksonville, FL and her children, John Farrell, Christopher Farrell, Jeffery Farrell, Leslie Ahrens, Mary Carol Farrell and Nancy Stewart; grandchildren, Erin Stewart, Vaughn Stewart, Emily Ahrens, Rachel Ahrens and Hannah Esty.
A private burial service will be held at Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Ann has requested that donations be made in her loving memory to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (“ASPCA”), as our pets give us unconditional love and enrich our lives.
