Angela Byard Davis Monroe's Obituary
Angela Byard Davis Monroe, 68, of Gainesville, FL passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 5, 1957, in Jacksonville, FL to Charles Clay and Mary Stephens Byard. Angela served as a dedicated teacher in Alachua County for over 40 years and her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched throughout her career. Angela’s varied interests included cooking and baking, gardening, thrifting, sharing memes and videos online and keeping in touch with her loved ones.
Her greatest joy and most important role in life was being a mother to her two sons, Marcel and Myles. Angela was deeply devoted to her sons, pouring her entire heart and soul into them. She was an active presence and constant influence in their lives—supporting them in Boy Scouts, youth clubs and activities, and never missing a sporting event. During Myles’ time with FSU Football, she attended all home games including driving to California in 2013 when they won the national championship. Her joy was found in the moments she shared with them, cheering them on both on and off the field.
A woman of strong faith, Angela was a long-time member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Her faith guided her kindness, generosity, and steadfast commitment to her community. She touched many lives with her warmth and steady example of grace in daily living.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Charles
She is survived by her sons Marcel and Myles Davis, their significant others Natalie and Whitney, her sister Sharon, and niece and nephew Kim and Bruce.
A Memorial Service to honor Angela’s life will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 12:00 pm at Trinity United Methodist Church 4000 NW 53rd Ave., Gainesville, FL with Reverend Steve Price officiating. A reception will follow.
