I have known Angela for many years, but she became my close friend when my husband, Steve, passed away two years ago. He was Sonlight Band Director at our church, and many times I observed Angela and Steve exchanging humorous conversations at the end of any Sonlight rehearsal. I can see them doing that again now!
God knows when we need people, and He knew I needed Angela's friendship at just the right time to help me in my grief journey. Angela always knew how to make me smile and laugh when telling me how proud she was of me throughout the past two years. Whenever we parted ways, she would say, "Soldier on, Girlie!"
We shared many meals together at church events, and at other places she looked forward to after her medical appointments. I became her "plus one" for her son's wedding becoming her chauffeur and assisting her in getting dressed up for the wedding. She made everything we did together fun. Afterward, I would text her to make sure she was alright, and she would respond with, "I'm snug as a bug in my bed!"
I miss you, my dear friend, but I am certain that you are snug as a bug resting in your Savior's arms!
