Agnes Ophelia Estes' Obituary
Agnes Ophelia Estes, age 96 of Gainesville, FL passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014. She was born December 16, 1917 in Henry County, Alabama to Robert C. and Mary Agnes Davis Herring.
Mrs. Estes attended Northwest Baptist Church. She loved to watch golf, Gator football and basketball. She also enjoyed watching the birds, working in the garden and playing shuffleboard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin William Estes; grandsons, Ronald Mitchell Estes and Steven Clinton Estes; brother, Robert Perry Herring and sister, Sara Frances Mills.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert Marvin Estes and Kay Estes and Barbara Cake Nickel, mother of her grandsons Ron and Steven, she is also survived by a wealth of cousins who loved her dearly.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Estes and a time of remembrance for her grandson, Ron Estes, who passed away a day before, will be held Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at Northwest Baptist Church, 5514 NW 23 Ave, Gainesville, FL 32606 with Pastor Craig Kanton officiating. Burial will follow in Oviedo Cemetery, Oviedo, FL. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
