Green Burial

Green Burial

At Williams-Thomas Funeral Home we are honored to serve families who choose green burial, also known as natural burial.  Green burial is the disposition choice where individuals are truly allowed to become one with the earth again.  This is the most environmentally friendly options, one can make when considering their final wishes.  There is no embalming and no vaults.  Our staff is well educated on the topic and we have many service and merchandise options available to fit your individual plans.  One of our own funeral directors has years of experience with green burial and worked at our local conservation cemetery.  We are lucky enough to live near Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery, rated highest by the Green Burial Council.  This conservation cemetery's 93 acres of land include grassy meadows, forest and wetlands, all located on Prairie Creek Preserve.  Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery is a beautiful location to lay your loved one to rest and offers the unique opportunity to participate in the burial process, reminiscent of how Americans used to care for their loved ones.

You Can Never Go Back and Do it Over

Some say it’s harsh to remind you of this, but we know we must. We want you to honor your loved one in a way that allows you to look back, years from now, and be thankful that you did the best you could to honor their life. Creating a ceremony that calls together the hearts and minds of all who loved them is a gift to everyone involved. A gift of memories, a gift of healing...a truly priceless gift of peace-of-mind.
