Yvonne Barraclough, 103, resident of Gainesville, Florida, died Monday January 9, 2023, in the E. T. York Haven Hospice Care Center, following a long illness.
Mrs. Barraclough was born on February 7, 1919, in Barnesboro, Pennsylvania to Paul and Sarah Westover. She lived her early years there, meeting her husband, Harold Barraclough, who predeceased. She traveled with her husband to New Jersey, and Ohio. She settled in for many years in Houston, Texas, where she ran multiple businesses. After her husband died, she moved to Gainesville, Florida to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law. She enjoyed spending time in Sanibel, Florida, and playing cards with friends.
She is survived by one daughter, Barrie Kobb, of Gainesville, Florida; predeceased by another daughter, Paula Stapleton; three grandchildren: Blair Stapleton of Wisconsin, Christopher Stapleton of Texas, and Steve Kobb (Rita Kobb) of Gainesville, Florida. She is also survived by her great grandson Luis.
No memorial service will be held. Mrs. Barraclough’s remains will travel to Pennsylvania to be buried next to her husband in East Ridge Cemetery, in Westover.
