One of the fairest and most knowledgeable judges, I have had the pleasure of appearing before. He will be missed. Rest in peace. Anthony LaSpada
I had been with the Tampa "preeminent law firm" where Judge Hodges practiced for 13 years less than a year before he was appointed to the Federal bench. Although I was a young associate at the time, neither I or any other lawyer in the firm - Macfarlane, Ferguson, Allison & Kelly at the time - wanted Terry to leave, but understood what the appointment meant to him and knew he would distinguish himself. I had the good fortune to work on at least one case with him before he left, and to ride with him to Gainesville for a seminar. Although I was never what you would call a trial lawyer, I always thought he should have been put on the U. S. Supreme Court (as did my wife who had worked in the U. S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District after Terry's appointment). Judge Hodges was the judge every judge should aspire to be - the "judge's judge." Our condolences to Terry's family on his passing.

Dan & family, I am so sorry for your loss. I know how much Terry meant to you all. He was an amazing man, a pillar of the community and a great dad. Thinking of you all during this time... Jess

Our sincere condolences to the Judge's family. We were fortunate enough to be his friend and have so many wonderful memories of our time with the Judge. While he was clearly revered by his "sisters and brothers" of the federal judiciary, as importantly he was a true friend to those of us who were lucky enough to know him and benefit from being in his presence. The world has lost a Super Gator and a truly wonderful person. Judge will be dearly missed, but our love for him will never fail. We will forever cherish what he meant to us and our family.
