Willis Wells, Jr.'s Obituary
Willis Wells, Jr., 52, longtime resident of Hawthorne, Florida, died Sunday, July 7, 2024, in Dunn, North Carolina.
Willis was born in Gainesville, Florida on May 25, 1972; he attended Shell Elementary and was a graduate of Hawthorne High School. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, was a retired employee of CXS Railroad and was currently working as a truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, going to the beach; hanging out with friends, cooking and was an avid Florida Gator football fan, and most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his sons.
He is survived by his two sons, William Hirsch and Cadin Wells; his father and stepmother, Willis, Sr. and Jackie Wells; his mother, Joy Nickell, a sister, Kim (Jim) Adams; brothers Fred and Eddie Ruble and Steven Wells; two grandchildren, Bryleigh Sophia Hirsch and Oaklynn Grace Hirsch; three nephews, Jacob, Joshua and Trey Van Soest.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 11:00 A. M., in the Chapel of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Hawthorne, US 301 South at Lake Avenue. Interment will follow in Hawthorne Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 5 to 7 P. M., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the substance abuse program of your choice, in Willis’s memory.
