Willie Joe Bray Sr.'s Obituary
Willie Joe Bray Sr., age 87, of Gainesville, FL passed away December 24, 2019. Willie Joe was born August 19, 1932 in Monroe, GA to the late Wyley Ernest and Katie Lyle Bray. He has lived in Gainesville since 1977. Mr. Bray served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a true patriot and loved this country. He worked most of his life as a self-employed flooring contractor. Mr. Bray was a member of Southwest Campus Westside Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Mr. Bray was preceded in death by his loving wife, Edna Bray, two brothers, and two sisters. He is survived by his children Joe Bray, Jr. and Sheila Bray of Georgia, Martha Mauldin of Cedar Key, FL, and Bob Bray of Chiefland, FL, stepchildren, Jacklyn (Donald) Hutchins and Julana Porter of Gainesville, FL., 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 2, 2020 at 11:00am at Southwest Campus Westside Baptist Church 8012 SW 75th St., Gainesville, FL with Pastor Jordan Massey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the church beginning at 10:00am. Burial will be private at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to Southwest Campus Westside Baptist Church.
