William "Bill" Frederick Norton's Obituary
William “Bill” Frederick Norton, age 87 of Alachua, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2016 at home, surrounded by his family. Bill was born May 22, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan to William John and Racheal Lorraine Hawes Norton. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He lived in Detroit until moving to Florida in 1981 to be close to his daughter. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0305 in St. Petersburg, FL and member of the Korean War Veterans Association in Alachua.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia A. Norton. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia L. (Samuel P.) Wright; step daughters, Barbara (Robert) Sarver, Debbie (Tom) Casey and Wendy Coticchio; step son, Richard (Barbara) Watson; sister, Eilene Smith and six grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 12:45 p.m., in Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, with military honors.
