William Paul (Bill) Larsen's Obituary
William Paul Larsen (Bill) passed away in Gainesville this Saturday, June 30 at the age of 78. Bill was born and raised in Chicago and grew up to become the quintessential lifelong learner.
He earned a Masters of Library Science from the University of Chicago and while it did not end up being his primary career, Bill was most passionate about his work as a librarian, as well as his “third act” as a citizen scientist. He was a die hard Chicago sports fan, particularly of the 2016 World Champion Chicago Cubs. He was also an enthusiast of classical music, “Great Books,” bridge and genealogy.
Bill is survived by his sister, Carol Minutillo, his daughter Winnie, his son Michael, his daughter-in law Anna, and dear friends from every stage of his life. A concert and celebration of Bill’s life will be held at 3pm Saturday, July 14th at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 4225 NW 34th Street, in Gainesville. Memorial donations can be made to the Friends of the Library Alachua County.
