William Mims Knight, Jr.'s Obituary
William Mims Knight, Jr., known to family and friends as Bill, passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of January 8, 2026. He was born to William Mims Knight, Sr and Willie Mae Knight of Lake Panasoffkee, Florida.
Bill is predeceased by his wife of 65 years Anne Knight, survived by a sister Freddie and is preceded in death by his beloved sisters, Winifred and Grace. He is survived by his three children: David Knight and his wife Jeni of Atlanta, Georgia, along with their children Joe and Lila; Angel Andrew and her husband Brian of Melrose, Florida, her children Taylor and Brooks; and Kevin Knight of Gainesville, Florida, and his children Ryan, Lindsey and Ashley. Bill was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren: Shepherd Knight, Lewis Knight, Eliza Knight, Kora Andrew, and Amelia Andrew.
Bill was known as a kind, loving, and patient gentleman. He was deeply devoted to his wife of 65 years who passed away a few months earlier. He loved the Lord deeply, cherished his family, and faithfully served his church. His life was a testimony of grace, humility, and steadfast faith. Those who knew him will remember his gentle spirit and unwavering devotion to God and those around him.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at The Chapel- Trinity United Methodist Church at 11:00 on Wednesday January 14th, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory and rejoice in the hope of eternal life through Christ Jesus.
