William J. Kastner's Obituary
William J. Kastner, 93, of Gainesville, Florida, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2015. He was born January 14, 1922 in Newark, New Jersey to Joseph and Clara Rittershofer Kastner. William was a World War II veteran, having served in the Coast Guard in the South Pacific. He was a longtime resident of Turkey Creek Forest, but for the last 4 years, William resided at The Atrium. He loved playing Bingo and Penny Pokeno.
William was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret A. Kastner. He is survived by his two sons, Robert W. Kastner (Cynthia) and Paul V. Kastner (Elizabeth).
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be held at Friday, August 14, 2015 at 2:30 PM at Jacksonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs, 3251 NE 180th Avenue Williston, FL 32696.
