William H. "Big Daddy Mac" McDaniel's Obituary
Mr. William H. 'Big Daddy Mac' McDaniel, loving husband, father, and friend to all, passed away at age 97 on September 24, 2018 in Gainesville, Florida.
He was born November 6, 1920, in Chipley, FL., to the late James and Tessie McDaniel. In 1941, William gave service to the Civilian Conservation Corps, before serving in the Army from 1942-44. He later worked for and retired from the Florida Department of Transportation as a Soils Lab manager. William was the beloved husband of the late Clara D. McDaniel and was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Sue McDaniel and his son, Larry C. McDaniel. William's hobbies were gardening, building, working with his hands, and generosity of spirit. He will, forever more be missed.
Mr. McDaniel is survived by his son, William McDaniel Jr.; daughter, Sonya J. McDaniel, 6 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.
Friends and family members may attend the graveside service with military honors, officiated by Dr. McGarity, on Saturday, October 6 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Forest Meadows East, 3600 SE Hawthorne Road, GAINESVILLE, Florida, 32641
