William Clifford "Cliff" Edwards' Obituary
William Clifford “Cliff” Edwards, age 62 of Hawthorne, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2014 in Shands at the University of Florida Hospital surrounded by family and friends. He was born August 17, 1952 at home in Tift County, Georgia, delivered by the family’s midwife named “Sweetie”, on his father’s birthday. Cliff had a great personality and cared deeply for his family. He worked for many years at the family business, Edwards Auto Salvage.
He is survived by his long time companion, Delores Mauk; sons, William C. Edwards, Jr. and James D. Edwards; step-son, Joshua Mauk; step-daughter, Julia Mauk; siblings, Robert Edwards (Martha), Virginia Clark (Emmett), Betty Patton (Johnnie), Minnie Edwards, Clarence Harold (Nancy) and Charles Edwards (Charlie); many loving nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews and step-grandson, Nicholas Kirkland. He was preceded in death by his parents, R.L. Edwards and Bertha Gilland Edwards and sisters, Barbara Padgett and Patricia Gilmore.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 3:00 p.m., in First Baptist Church of Hawthorne, 22027 SE 65th Avenue, with Pastor Charles Litzell officiating. Interment will follow in the family cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 p.m.
