William "Cornflake" Lee Flake's Obituary
William “Cornflake” Lee Flake, age 85 of Hawthorne, FL passed away Friday, January 17, 2025. He was born October 10, 1939, in Jacksonville, Florida to Charles Richard, Sr. and Ruby Mae Woods Flake.
He proudly served his country in the United States Marines. He was a good husband and father and loved his family dearly. Cornflake was an avid hunter and outdoorsman; and he enjoyed deep sea fishing. He was a believer in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. He will be missed.
He is survived by his wife of 63 ½ years, Shirley Ann Flake; children, David Flake, Darrell Flake, Kelly Gonzalez; sisters, Nancy Sasser, Mary Ellen Crews; brother, Leonard Flake; grandchildren, Katherine, David, Zach, Cody, Zane, Lance, Colten, Samantha, Skylor and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by Cecil and Richard Flake; his grandson, Drew Flake.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 24, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Williams-Thomas Hawthorne Chapel, 22205 SE 69th Ave. with Br. Donald Morrison officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Saluda Cemetery in Orange Heights .16650 NE 83rd Place, Hawthorne, FL
