William "Billy" Harris Gibbs' Obituary
William (Billy) Harris Gibbs, age 72, Lake McMeekin, Hawthorne, Florida, passed away on January 13, 2021 at the Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida due to COVID-19 infection.
Billy was originally from Wauchula, Florida and moved to Gainesville in the 1950’s. He graduated from Gainesville High School in 1967. He was a veteran of the US Army. Billy worked for many years in his parent’s Badcock Furniture stores and later as a licensed real estate broker. Billy had a love for boating, fishing, hunting, his beloved Bronco, jeeps and motorcycles. He especially loved his Harley Davidson Fatboy. He loved attending Daytona bike week.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth M. Gibbs, Sr. and Geraldine Harris Gibbs. Immediate survivors include his wife Pat Harper Gibbs; son Adam Gibbs, daughter-in-law Kristen Wilson; and two grandchildren: Jackson and Lena Gibbs. Also, a sister, Sherry Gibbs Mercer, and brother, Kenny M. Gibbs, Jr.
Over the years, Billy loved many pets, now leaving behind four felines.
Billy Gibbs was a kind, caring, compassionate person. He was a great man, son, brother, father, grandfather, husband and friend. He will be sorely missed.
In lieu of flowers, consider donating to a local Alzheimer’s facility and/or cat/dog rescue. It would be greatly appreciated.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 11:00 A M., in Memorial Park East, Hawthorne Road, with David Leonard, officiating. Please know that masks will be required.
