William “Bill” David York, 68, of Gainesville, Florida passed away in Gainesville on April 23, 2017, surrounded by his family. He leaves behind his wife, Laura of Gainesville and daughter, Sarah Elisabeth of Navarre; grandchildren, Lillian and Paxton also of Navarre;sister, Susan Sofferin (David) of Thomasville, Georgia; brother, Michael York (Donna) of Chattahoochee; brother-in-law, Larry Smith (Marilyn) of Madisonville, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Linda Thomas (Bill) of Lakeland; and a host of nieces, nephews, and loving friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Lillian York and his sister, Jeanette.A service will be held Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at Saint Joseph Episcopal Church in Newberry with Fr. Richard Pelkey officiating. A graveside service will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Chattahoochee at a later date.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made on Bill's behalf to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90 Blvd. Gainesville, Florida, 32606 or Saint Joseph Episcopal Church, 16921 W Newberry Rd, Newberry, FL 32669
