I have so many memories of Bill through Catholic Charities. He and his golf buddies were so helpful to us as we expanded our programs and had desks and bookshelves to build. That is my first memory of him 25 years ago. He continued to volunteer for us in many ways but especially the backpack program packing backpacks into his late 80s and driving them to the schools in Gainesville so kids could have food for the weekend. He was an amazing man, and I loved talking to him about his family. He was always so proud of his grandchildren. He stop volunteering right before the pandemic otherwise we would’ve thrown him a retirement party. My one regret is not staying in contact with him after he left. Thank you for sharing your dad and granddad with us. Gainesville is a better place because of him. Geralyn (Ryan) Mackritis
