William "Bill" Austin McIver's Obituary
William “Bill” Austin McIver, 74, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2022. He was born on July 30, 1948 in St. Stephen, N.B. to Helen R. (Herron) McIver and Fremont A. McIver. Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1970, serving with the 82nd Engineer Battalion in Bamberg, Germany. He retired from the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service on November 1, 2000, after 25 years of employment.
Bill is survived by his wife, Gail (Hanson) McIver; daughter, Robin Guertin; grandchildren, Jonathan Pinnette and Rachel Howick; great-granddaughter, Haven; siblings, Robert McIver, Patsy Rauch, Mary Stinson and Dale McIver. He was predeceased by his daughter, Kimberly Pinnette; parents, Helen and Fremont McIver; sister, Helen and father-in-law, Orville (Jake) Hanson.
Bill enjoyed golfing and watching his favorite football team, the Green Bay Packers. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time at the family camp in Vanceboro, Maine. He will be greatly missed by his family and all that were fortunate enough to know him.
There will be no funeral service or calling hours. The family will have a private celebration of his life at a later time.
