William "Bill" Grant Borders' Obituary
William “Bill” Grant Borders, age 89 of Orange Heights, FL went to be with his wife in heaven Tuesday, March 21, 2023. He was born March 24, 1933 in Lawrence County, KY to Wallace and Lois Catherine Borders.
Bill grew up in West Virginia and proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He moved to Florida in 1960. Bill loved collecting Antiques and he was a Christian and loved the Lord. After 30 years of service, he retired from Clay Electric Co-op.
He is survived by sons, Terry Borders (Ellen), Kim Borders (Judy), James Borders (Mae); eight grandchildren, Bradley Borders, Jennifer King, Julie Byrd, Joshua Borders, Luke Borders, Crystal Borders, Thomas Borders, Jonathan Borders and twelve great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Anna Kathleen Borders.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 24, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Downtown, 404 North Main Street. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 2:30 p.m. at Orange Heights Baptist Church, 16700 NE State Road 26, Hawthorne with Pastor Gerry Hunter and Pastor Aaron Morgan officiating. Interment will follow with military honors, in Saluda Cemetery, 16650 NE 83rd Place, Hawthorne. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Orange Heights Baptist Church.
