Willene Fetrow's Obituary
Willene Fetrow 94, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, February 8th surrounded by people she loved and loved her. She was born in Quincy, FL to William DeLotte and Evelyn Linton DeLotte on May 28, 1930. She grew up in Cross City, FL before moving to Gainesville after high school.
Most of her adult life she was a waitress, starting at Frisch’s Big Boy and moving to the Clock Restaurant when Frisch’s closed. She remained at the Clock for over 30 years until she retired at the young age of 80!! She loved her customers and co-workers; many were like family to her.
Willene loved the Atlanta Braves and the Florida Gators. She loved reading James Patterson books and was still reading them a month before she passed. You could bring a huge smile to her face by giving her sliced tomatoes or a tomato sandwich.
Willene was preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings, a son, Jim Horne who was her only child, her husband, Merle Fetrow and her precious dog, Peanut.
She is survived by her wonderful niece Janet Loper and her husband Gene who have spent the past nine years making sure she had the best care possible. Her loving caregivers who lovingly called her “Mother”, Rachelle Hogg, Jennifer Langford and JoJo Rivers and her dear friend, Ann Lyons who spent time with her just about every day.
