Willard Ray "Sonny" Hunter's Obituary
Willard Ray “Sonny” Hunter, age 79 of Gainesville, Florida passed away Monday, May 25, 2015. He was born March 26, 1936 in Alachua County, Florida to Willard and Mary Todd Hunter.
Sonny lived in Alachua County all his life where he worked as a carpenter and farmed in his spare time. As a young man he enjoyed competing in rodeos and returned to it in later years. He was a member of LaCrosse Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Robbie, Dale, Deana Kaye, Lisa, Gerry and Brenda; sisters, Louise and Carolyn and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, George Wallace Hunter and his son, Gary Eugene Hunter in 2012.
A graveside service will be held Friday, May 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, LaCrosse with Pastor Scott Brown and Gerry Hunter officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street.
