Willard John Gustave Brask's Obituary
Willard John Gustave Brask, age 89 died on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at E.T. York Care Center in Gainesville, FL. He was the husband of Harriet Boden Brask. They shared 69 years of marriage together.
Born in Detroit, MI, he was the son of Andrew and Sannah Brask. He graduated from Cass Technical High School in Detroit and completed his undergraduate and master’s degrees in music at the University of Michigan. He served on the piano faculty at Newberry College, The University of Michigan, Ithaca College, and The University of Florida, where he also directed opera and musical theater. He played for the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall, Jackie Gleason, and baritone Sherril Milnes.
Mr. Brask was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Harriet Boden Brask; sons, Todd Andrew Brask and Aaron Neal Brask and sister Ardith Johnsen.
The Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church, 3146 NW 13th Street, Gainesville FL 32609 with Rev. Charles Freeman officiating. In lieu of flowers please donate to the charity of your choice.
