Wilfredo Gonzalez's Obituary
Wilfredo Gonzalez, age 55 of Gainesville, passed away Monday, April 6, 2015 at 9:00 a.m., at his home. He was born June 6, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois to Theodoro Gonzalez Ortiz and Felicita Cruz Crespo. He attended Wright College in Chicago, where he earned the degree Associates in Arts Honors Liberal Arts and Northeastern Illinois University where he earned the degree Bachelor of Arts. Wilfredo loved music and played trombone in his band, La Orquesta Sensacion Latina. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Holy Faith Catholic Church, where he taught Sunday school.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Gonzalez; mother, Felicita Cruz Crespo of Chicago, IL; sons, Joseph, Wilfredo, David and Tony Gonzalez; siblings, Sonia Rios of Port Richey, FL, Theodore Gonzalez, Jr., Madeline Gonzalez Garcia, Maria J. Tom and Eric Gonzalez, all of Chicago, IL and grandchildren, Lilly, Flynn and Damian Gonzalez.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 9:00 a.m., in Holy Faith Catholic Church, 747 NW 43rd Street, with Fr. John Phillips as celebrant. The family will receive friends Friday, April 10, 2015, 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the prayer vigil beginning at 7:00 p.m., at the church.
