Wendell Gilliland's Obituary
Wendell Gilliland, age 58 of Hawthorne, passed away Monday, October 15, 2018 in Shands UF Hospital. Wendell was born March 16, 1960 in Prattville, Alabama to Gordon and Fannie Sherrell White. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for WastePro. He coached many different sports over the years in Hawthorne. Wendell had a great sense of humor and his family was everything to him. He loved fishing and hunting and his grandkids.
Wendell is survived by his wife of 40 years, Theresa McAlpin Gilliland; mother, Fannie White; children Elisha Gilliland and April Gilliland Smith; brothers, Otis Gilliland, Kindell Gilliland and Larry Gilliland; step brothers, Greg White, Gordon White and Darrell White and grandchildren, Dylan, Skylar, Terelyn, Chester and Little Wendell.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Burnt Island, Lochloosa. Family and friends are welcome to bring a covered dish.
