Wayne Eldon Mason Jr.'s Obituary
Wayne Eldon Mason, Jr., 80, of Gainesville, Florida, died Monday, September 10, 2018, at his home, following a brief illness.
Mr. Mason was born on March 11, 1938 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Wayne, Sr. and Ruth Mason. He graduated from McKeesport High School and Penn State University. He proudly served as a Captain in the U. S. Army. Mr. Mason worked for many years at Florida Rock Industries, and retired in 2003 as the Division President of the North Central Division. He was an avid collector of old cars.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kit Mason,; a daughter, Robin Mason, of Boca Raton, a son, Rusty Mason, of St. Augustine; three granddaughters, Meghan Mason, of St. Augustine, Keely Mason of Gainesville, and Hayley Mason, of Orlando; a sister, Jane (Tom) Tewksbury, of Wheaton, IL; several nieces and nephews and his constant four legged companions Wyatt, Katy and Chrissy.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 11:00 A. M., in the Newberry United Methodist Church, 24845 W. Newberry Road, with Rev. Karen Burris, officiating.
