Wayne Thomas Mack's Obituary
Wayne Thomas Mack passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at the age of 74. Wayne was born in Gainesville, Fl to Joseph Thomas and Marjorie Rose Everett Mack.
Wayne was a Deputy Sheriff with the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office for 35 years.
He was the Director of the Jail and attained the rank of Major of Operations prior to his retirement. Wayne was Past President of the Fraternal Order of Police, Gator Lodge #67, Past President of the Alachua County Sheriff’s Retirees Association and a member of the Gainesville Masonic Lodge #41.
He enjoyed fishing, boating, cooking and was an avid Gator fan.
Wayne is survived by his wife Janis Wodey Mack, his son; Chris Mack, daughter-in-law; Allyson, two grandchildren; Hannah and Thomas, brothers; Dale Mack, Kenny Mack and sister; Marsha Swilley.
Funeral services for Wayne Mack will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 11:00 am at Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Westarea , 823 NW 143rd St, Newberry, Fl. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 17th, 2024, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the ALS Association. www.als.org.
