Wanda M. Smith Willis' Obituary
Wanda M. Smith Willis of Gainesville, FL passed away September 12, 2022, at North Florida Regional Medical Center. Wanda was born February 14, 1940, in Gainesville, FL to Marvin and Dorothy Arrington Stewart. She attended Gainesville High School and worked in the insurance industry for Nationwide Insurance. Wanda has been a very faithful Christian throughout her lifetime. She was of the Baptist faith and was a long-time active member of North Gainesville Baptist Church along with her husband, Tiny Willis. Wanda cherished her family and friends and loved spending time with each of them. She enjoyed camping, crocheting, and reading.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, her sons, Ronald Terrell and John Henry Smith IV and daughter, Jamie Craig. She is also preceded in death by her siblings: Gail Holden, Dorothy Dianne Stewart (Ben) Barron, and Larry (Lottie) Stewart.
She is survived by the love of her life, Tiny Willis, and daughter Carla (Tony) Beckman, her stepchildren Scott Willis and Kerri Willis Antonoplos as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and extended family members and friends.
Family will receive friends Friday, September 16, 2022, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Downtown, 404 N. Main Street, Gainesville, FL. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 1:00 PM at North Gainesville Baptist Church 6203 NW 39th Ave., Gainesville, FL with pastor Marty Moon officiating. Burial will take place at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell FL at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Wanda’s memory to North Gainesville Baptist Church.
