Wanda Lou Gallops' Obituary
Wanda Lou Gallops, 91, of Alachua, FL, passed away unexpectedly on February 29, 2024, at North Florida Regional Medical Center. Wanda was born August 6, 1932, in Cleveland, OH to John Kirby and Florence Davis Krause. She moved to Florida with her family at the age of two. It was here she met the love of her life, Henry Marion Gallops, Sr. soon after his being discharged from service in the United States Navy. Theirs was a true love story, spanning 71 years and 2 days of marriage. They loved traveling together and being with their family. They were blessed with two children of whom she was very proud. She was an extraordinary homemaker who had a deep passion for photography and sewing. She especially loved sewing for her children and family. Wanda continued to be creative with her sewing and never stopped learning and enjoying. She and her daughter skyped regularly to discuss sewing and all things related. Wanda was of the protestant faith. All who knew and loved her will miss her presence in their lives.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Shirley and Barbara.
She is survived by her loving husband, Henry, her children; Henry M. (Kai) Gallops, Jr. and Deborah Jean (Joseph) Slinger, three grandchildren; Karly Gallops, Joey Slinger, and David (Stephanie) Slinger, and three great grandchildren; Wesley, Grayson, and Murphy, also surviving are extended family members and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 8, 2024, at 4:00PM at Williams-Thomas Westarea Chapel, 823 NW 143rd St. with The Rev. Dr. Don McGarrity officiating.
