Walter Hugh Brown's Obituary
Walter Hugh Brown, 79, of Alachua passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. He was born October 6, 1937 in Vienna, Georgia to Charlie and Estelle Stewart Brown. He was a member of The Greenhouse Church since 1963. He proudly served in The National Guard for 6 years. In 1998, he retired from Publix after 42 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hiking and most of all, fishing.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Carl Brown. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bonnie; children, Timothy Brown and Corey Brown (Julie); brothers, Rae Brown (Pat), Douglas Brown (Cathe), and Harold Brown, and two grandsons, Matthew and Jacob Brown.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street, with Pastor Michael Patz officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery West. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to The Greenhouse Church HUB, 2925 NW 39th Ave, Gainesville, FL 32605.
