Mr Walter Daniel "Dan" Belcher's Obituary
Mr. Walter Daniel “Dan” Belcher, 58, of Alachua, Florida, died Saturday, November 1, 2025.
Dan was born on November 15, 1966, at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. The son of a career military man, he grew up all over the United States and the world, including time on both coasts and in Japan. He graduated first from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and then received his master’s from the University of Texas at Arlington. He worked for many years as a teacher and administrator in Fort Worth, Texas, before transitioning to a career in educational sales. Dan’s work brought his family to Alachua, Florida in 2013, working for the nonprofit NCCER, the National Center for Construction Education and Research. He then moved to JLG Industries, bringing training programs for their heavy access equipment to schools, prisons, and trade associations.
Dan’s hobbies included watching Texas Rangers baseball with his family, doing seasonal home decoration, lots of lawn care, and sharing his favorite bits of childhood entertainment with the people around him. He was a member of Canvas Church in Alachua, a volunteer on the guest services team, a member of several men’s groups, and a Men of Honor graduate in 2023.
He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Linda Belcher; daughter, Brooke Renee Belcher and son, Brantley Warren Belcher, all of Alachua; by his parents, Walter “Toby” Belcher and Barbara Belcher, his sister, Beth Rowe and his nephew, Liam Rowe, all of Fort Worth.
A memorial service celebrating Dan’s life will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 10:00 A. M., at Canvas Church in Alachua, with Pastor J. Mark Johns, officiating. The family will host a time of receiving friends at the church for thirty minutes before and after the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Canvas’ prison ministry using canvasgive.com.
