Virginia R. Strozier's Obituary
Virginia R. Strozier, age 96 of Gainesville, passed away Monday, June 26, 2017. Virginia was born March 13, 1921 in Brownsville, Tennessee to William C. and Leone Lay Ragland. Virginia was a registered nurse who moved to Gainesville in 1957 after being contacted by the first Dean of Nursing to start the initial College of Nursing at the University of Florida. She retired in 1984.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Callaway Strozier and sister, Maryann Rhoades. She is survived by her son, Fred C. (Carly) Strozier and three grandchildren, Fred C. Strozier, Jr., Amber Switzer and Savannah Strozier.
A private graveside service will be held.
