Virginia Ellen Harris' Obituary
Virginia Ellen Harris, age 78 of Gainesville, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018. Virginia was born January 15, 1940 in Newark, New Jersey to Andrew Claude and Thelma Jacobson Marsh. She moved to Gainesville in 1983 and retired from the University of Florida Alumni Association after 22 years of service. She was a strong woman of faith, selfless and Godly, who always put her family first, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church. In her free time Virginia enjoyed gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Watson F. Harris and son, Steven Robert Harris.
She is survived by her children, Tammy Trahan, Glenn Harris (Kim), Kimberley Patterson (Garth) and Robin Harris; brother, Claude Marsh and sister, Doris Lowenstein and 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., at Westside Baptist Church, 10000 West Newberry Road. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 5, 2018, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 North Main Street.
