Virginia Catherine Bresnan Grant's Obituary
Virginia Catherine Bresnan Grant, age 90 of Gainesville, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016. Virginia was born January 30, 1926 in Dalton City, IL to Edmond Bryan and Chalice Vivian Scott Bresnan. She worked as an executive secretary and retired from Civitan Regional Center.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Paul Grant, Sr.; brother, Paul Bresnan and sisters, Margaret Oye, Barbara Alexander and Jaqueline Butcher.
She is survived by her children:
daughter, Linda Brabham (Dale) and grandchildren, Michael, John, David, Christina, Emily and Ellen and ten great grandchildren;
daughter, Marilyn Baldinelli (Barbara Jandt) and grandchildren, Dan and Sharon, two great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren;
son, Art Grant (Cindy) and grandchildren, Jennifer, Belinda and Lynda, four great grandchildren and one great great grandchild;
son, August Grant (Diane) and grandchildren, Bobby and Jessica;
son, Bill Grant (Christy);
son, Wally Grant (Kathy) and grandchildren, Sydnie, Kelsey and Brad and
daughter, Donna Eileen Phillips and grandchildren, Ashlei, Brittan and Gena.
She is also survived by her sisters, Grace Bresnan and Alice Sartori and her friends at The Village that she loved so much.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Augustine Catholic Church Friday, March 11, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., with Fr. Marek Dzien as celebrant. Interment will follow in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at 1:30 p.m. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 6:30 p.m., with the vigil beginning at 7:00 p.m., at the church. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to St. Augustine Catholic Church, 1738 W University Ave, Gainesville, FL 32603.
