Miss Victoria Dawn "Vicky" Tomlinson's Obituary
Miss Victoria Dawn “Vicky” Tomlinson, 50, of Ocala and a longtime resident of Hawthorne, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
Vicky was born on February 9, 1976, in Cartersville, Georgia, to the late David “Big Daddy” Tomlinson and Linda Tomlinson. She moved with her family to Florida in 1987. In April 1994, an automobile accident forever changed Vicky’s life and the lives of those who loved her. Vicky’s father and mother became her primary and devoted caregivers following the accident until her father’s untimely passing in early 2008. Since that time, her mother has remained Vicky’s constant and loving caregiver. Her father — whom Vicky affectionately called “Mr. Daddy Sir” — played a special role in encouraging her to respond, smile, talk, and laugh again. Vicky had a smile that could “reach the stars,” and her family will deeply miss that, and her sweet laughter.
Vicky enjoyed watching Braves baseball and, as her family lovingly joked, was “encouraged” to cheer for the Dolphins as well. She was a longtime member of Hawthorne First Baptist Church.
In addition to her beloved father, Vicky was preceded in death by her nephew, Steven Austin Toms, and her niece, Leanne Dawn Tomlinson.
She leaves behind her loving mother and devoted caregiver, Linda Tomlinson; her brothers and sisters, David (Patricia) Tomlinson, Douglas (Tracey) Tomlinson, Dennis (Michelle) Tomlinson, Russell (Faith) Tomlinson, Steven (Adina) Tomlinson, Christopher (Brandi) Tomlinson, Paula (Randy) Roberts, Tracy (Woody) Toms, Michelle (Brian) McDonald, Crystal (Aaron) Benefield, and Angel Pridgen; along with a host of loving nieces and nephews and extended family.
Funeral services for Vicky will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Downtown, 404 North Main Street, Gainesville, with Rev. Robert Carter officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
