Verna T. Sisk's Obituary
Mrs. Verna T. Green Sisk got her wings, August 12, 2016. She was in her home in Chiefland, FL surrounded by loved ones. She was 92 years old.
Verna was born in Gainesville, FL on August 28, 1923 to James Allen and Rosa Belle Green. She was one of twelve children. Verna married Fletcher Sisk of Miami. They raised four children in Gainesville. She worked at the cafeteria of Sidney Lanier Elementary.
Verna was preceded in death by her husband, Fletcher and her two sons Steve and Harold.
She is survived by her two daughters, Rosetta (Dennis) Coggins of Chiefland and Genny (Mike) Walker of Interlachen; six granddaughters, Brenda Coggins Drow, Angela Coggins Espinosa, Denise Coggins McElroy, Katy Walker Cuartas, Heather Sisk, and Hannah Sisk; two grandsons, Paul Sisk and Michael Walker. She had 14 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Verna was a devout Christian and was baptized in the Presbyterian Church. She loved to read, fish and hunt for treasure in flea markets. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who was kind to everyone.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 11: 00 a.m. in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 North Main Street. Burial will follow in Memorial Park East. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
She will be dearly missed and loved by many.
