Timothy Lee Ledvina's Obituary
Timothy Lee Ledvina, age 71, passed away in Gainesville, FL on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 hitting golf balls at a local golf course. He was born on May 17, 1947 in San Francisco, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Betty Ledvina.
His is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jean Ann Johnson Ledvina, two brothers, Lon Ledvina (Danielle Ledvina) from Seattle, WA and Jay Ledvina (Suellen Ledvina) from Mechanicsburg, PA.
Tim and Jean married in Marion, IA and had three children, James Timothy Ledvina (Stacey Shelton Ledvina) of Gainesville, Kelley Ledvina of Gainesville, and Lori Ledvina Courtney (Thomas Lynn Courtney) from Alpharetta, GA. He also had six grandchildren, James Tyler Ledvina, Bailey Jean Shelton Ledvina, Eric Peyton Nimmons, Kelsey Dakota Nimmons, Jackson Thomas Courtney, and Colin Wesley Courtney.
He was a graduate of Marion High School in Marion, IA. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Studies and Education from Lee College in Alberta Lee, MN. He worked as a school teacher in Iowa, and a PGA Golf Professional in Iowa, South Carolina and Florida. Most recently, he was the high school golf coach for Oak Hall High School and St. Francis High School in Gainesville. Upon retirement, he continued to give golf lessons.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street, CR 241 North, Newberry, 32669 with Rev. David Leonard officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to Gator Junior Golf Association at gatorjuniorgolf.org.
