Thomas Lee Rush's Obituary
Thomas Lee Rush, age 66 of Lochloosa, Florida, passed away Friday, August 28, 2015 in Butner, North Carolina. He was born January 8, 1949 in Gainesville FL.
Thomas was a welder and commercial fisherman. He loved to read, hunt, and fish. His greatest desire was to be able to come home, to be with his family, and maybe even one last time to wet a hook. He always said his greatest achievement was his children.
Thomas was preceded in death by Beque Rush and Bettiemarie Edenfield; daughter, Mary Marie Rush; mother, Bertie Mae Rush; father, Willie Rush; brothers, George Rush, William Rush, and Lowell Rush; and sisters, Bertha Cochran, Velma Powell, and Martha Ann McCleod.
He is survived by his four children, Tammy Rush Moore (Michael), Robert Lee Rush (Michelle), Laurie Ann Rockenstyre (William), and Thomas John Rush (Amanda); sisters, Louise Selph (Rusty), Anna Aldridge, Mary Jane Bland, and Carrie Long; six grandchildren, Holli LeAllison Moore, Cassandra Nelson, Reilee Moore, Ashten Rush, Evan Powell, and Coltan Powell. Thomas was expecting his first great grandchild, Ellie Marie, in October of this year and had many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME HAWTHORNE, 301 South at Lake Ave, with Kirk Selph and Pastor Paul Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Cemetery, 23808 SE 189 Ave., Hawthorne, FL 32640.
