Terry Jonathan Jertberg,'s Obituary
Terry Jonathan Jertberg, 72, of Gainesville, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 23, 2024.
The Celebration of Life service will be held at 6 PM on Sunday, June 2nd, 2024 at the Pentecostals of Gainesville Church. Rev. Jimmy Toney and Rev. Jeffrey Arnold will be officiating. Visitation will precede the service from 4-6PM at the church as well. Funeral arrangements are being held by William-Thomas Funeral Home.
Terry was born in Natal, Brazil on February 29th, 1952. On December 23, 1976 he was married to Sharon “Sherry” Ann Montgomery Jertberg and were married for 47 years.
Terry was considered an entrepreneur, starting multiple different businesses over the years. He’s longest being North Florida Painting as paint contractor. He was also a partner with Jorge Manarte of High Roller Fishing Lures. He hosted over 50 trips for peacock bass fishing in the Amazon with High Roller Adventures and High Roller Outdoors Store (Fish and Game local product store).
Terry enjoyed fishing, shooting, gardening, traveling, eating Brazilian food, spending time with friends and family, and serving at the church. He loved enjoying any of his down time with his kids and grandkids.
Terry is survived by his wife Sherry, his children, Christina Abramowitz, Allan AJ Jertberg, Michael Jertberg, son-in-law Josh Abramowitz, daughter-in-law Stephanie Jertberg. Brothers, Thomas Jertberg, Tim Jertberg. Sister, Trudee Bezerra. Grandchildren: Samuel Asher Jertberg and Lucas Aaron Jertberg.
He is preceded in death by father Frank Jertberg and mother Doris Jertberg.
Terry will be fondly remembered by being a supportive friend. The one who will always give unlimited second chances. He could always be counted on to protect anyone. He will always have a warm smile and witty humor. He will take his time to seek out those to make them feel welcomed and loved.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to The Pentecostals of Gainesville Deaf Ministry.
