Terry Arthur Backer's Obituary
Terry Arthur Backer, age 72 of Gainesville passed away Monday, October 1, 2018. He was born January 25, 1947 in Bradford, Pennsylvania to Gerald L. and Juanita H. Knapp Backer.
Terry was owner of Backer Lock since 1981. He was a charter member of Rowe Lodge of Gainesville, member of Masonic Lodge # 41 of Gainesville and Scottish Rite of Ocala. He was an avid outdoor sportsman.
He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Barbara “Bobbie” Backer and daughter, Kim Backer-Kelley.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in High Springs Cemetery, NW 2nd Street, High Springs with Masonic Rites. A gathering of friends will be Friday, October 12, 2018 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 North Main Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children Attn: Office of Development 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr. Tampa, FL 33607.
