I didn't know him well. I saw him be quiet, patient, and "felt" a gentleness from just being by him. I wish I had known him better. He was special.
My prayers are with you all.

I didn't know him well. I saw him be quiet, patient, and "felt" a gentleness from just being by him. I wish I had known him better. He was special.
My prayers are with you all.

I met Tad in July of this year. He was the captain of team "Orange Force" and through good days and bad, he was a constant source of wise advice, calm words of encouragement, and knowledge. He taught me so much not just about medicine, but also about how to be patient with myself and others, how to make everyone feel valued and appreciated, and how to live generously. From our first interactions together, my first impressions of him were that he is the nicest person I have ever met; as I got to know him better over the past 6 months, I was impressed by how completely genuine his kindness was. We forged a friendship that I will always cherish. I will miss his subtle humor, his humble intelligence, and our shared enthusiasm for science fiction films. Though he leaves the world slightly darker and colder, his memory will live on forever in the hearts of all the lives he has touched.

He was always kind. He was always smiling. He was always sincere. He was always a friend. I am saddened by his loss and I pray for comfort for Tad's family. More than anything, I am joyful we were able to know Tad during this life and we celebrate all that he meant to us.
Thank you for being an inspiration to us all here at Mayo Clinic. I will miss your smile and warm presence.
