Sylvia Jane "Cookie" Watson's Obituary
Sylvia Jane, lovingly and widely known as “Cookie” Watson, 73, lifelong resident of Gainesville and Alachua County, died Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at her home.
Cookie was born in High Springs, Florida on July 7, 1943, to the late Alex and Mary Cannon. She graduated from Santa Fe High School. Cookie worked for many years at The Tackle Box as a clerk.
She was a friend to everyone she met, and she never knew a stranger.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Fogarty; children, David (Michelle) Watson, Heidi Fogarty, and Scott Fogarty (Ashley Gilbert); brother, Marvin Cannon; sister, Mary Carlene Waters; grandchildren, Dustin Padgett, Breeton Dennis, Mallorie Watson, Luvleigh Fogarty, and Irisa Fogarty. Two great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 2:00 P. M, in the Chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street, Newberry. Interment will follow in Newberry Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, September 16, 2016 from 5 to 7 P. M., at the funeral home.
