Sylvia Earlene Padgett's Obituary
Sylvia Earlene Padgett, age 83 of Interlachen, Florida, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2025. She was born on April 1, 1942, in Starke, Florida to Henry Ellis and Laura Kirkland Broskey. She was the baby of 12 children.
Sylvia was the owner and operator of Padgett’s Daycare of Gainesville and Interlachen for over 40 years. She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren and her cats.
She is survived by her loving husband, Clyde Lee Padgett, daughter, Laura Marie Alligood and her husband Jimmy Dobbins; her step children, Samantha Ritter and Danny Padgett; 4 grandchildren, Kenneth Jernigan (Jodi), David “D.J.” Zwicker, Richard Jernigan (Colleen), Ricky King (Karen); 7 great grandchildren, Wyatt, Airana, Kinley, Colt, Alex, Austin, Niya and a great great grandbaby on the way.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her daughter, Clara “Suzy” King, son, Charles “Wesley” Pride and grandson, Rodney W. King, Jr.
A graveside service will be held Monday, April 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Fairbanks Cemetery with Pastor Geneva Rodgers officiating.
