Sylvia Marcelle Bruce Williams' Obituary
Sylvia Marcelle Bruce Williams, 77, of Hawthorne passed away December 6, 2020 after a sudden illness with her loving husband by her side.
She was born March 4, 1943, in Gainesville, FL to the late Sidney A. Bruce and Inez Hampton Congleton. A graduate of Gainesville High School, Mrs. Williams devoted her life to her family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Freddy M. Williams Sr, affectionately known by many as Toby Bennett; 3 daughters, Georgia (Terry) Lambert of Lake City, Windy (Richard) Moseley of Ocala and Christine “Boo” (Patrick) McCray of Mayo. She was most proud of her 9 grandchildren, Carrie Lambert, Jimmy Lambert, Zack White, Andrew Borklund Jr, Brooke Walker, Sydney White, Taylor Rackley, Nick Borklund and Cain McCray; 10 great-grandchildren, Lilli, Brystal, Nolan, Quinn, Camden, Vivienne, Dawson, Ezra, Carter and Arabella. She is also survived by a brother, Charles Congleton, and an Uncle, Don L. Hampton, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by a son, Freddy M. Williams Jr. and brothers Sidney M. Bruce and James “Jim” Congleton.
Family will host a private viewing on Thursday, December 10, 2020 and a memorial gathering will be shared later.
In lieu of flowers, family request donations be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or to a breast cancer charity of your choice.
