Sylvia Lapicola's Obituary
Sylvia Lapicola, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 15th, 2024, at the age of 78. Born in Ocilla, Georgia, to Dorothy “Dottie” Corbet and Hayward Roberts, Sylvia grew up in Miami, Florida, where she attended Hialeah High School.
After high school, Sylvia married the love of her life, John Lapicola. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared many happy years together until John’s passing.
Sylvia is survived by her daughter, Amy Muir, her son-in-law David Muir, and their three children, Elizabeth, Jack, and Nathan.
Sylvia had a passion for life and a zest for adventure. She loved to travel, work in her yard and loved dressing up for Halloween. She was known for her delicious chicken noodle soup, which she would always make for her family and friends when they were feeling under the weather.
Sylvia was also a talented athlete, excelling at bowling and playing tennis with her daughter and friends. Her greatest gift was her infectious joy and unwavering love. She had a way of making everyone feel special and cared for.
Sylvia was affectionately known as “GaGa” to her grandchildren, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She loved attending their games and performances and even enjoyed cutting their hair.
Sylvia will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
The service will be held at the Thomas Williams Funeral Home at 823 NW 143rd Street, Newberry, Florida, on Tuesday, October 29th, at 4:00 PM.
