Sylvia Edweena Gocek's Obituary
Sylvia Edweena Gocek, age 84 passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024. She was born January 17, 1940 in Ocala, Florida to Laurie Miles and Wynola Sapp Pardee. She was raised in Micanopy and attended Reddick School.
Her first job, she worked on the lunch counter at Woolworths in Gainesville. She then married and became a housewife and stay at home mother. Later she went to work at the New Nationwide, after many years, she retired from Nationwide Insurance Company.
She loved antiquing, butterflies, and the Florida Gators. She volunteered at the Hospice Attic for many years.
She is survived by her son, Don Gocek and his wife Donna Kay; two grandchildren, Ashley Grant and her husband Daniel, Andrew Gocek and his wife Kimmy; four great grandchildren, Kaylee, Grayson, Oaklee and Owen. Niece, Laura Pardee Panatera and her daughter Beth.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, Johnny F. Gocek, her parents, Laurie and Wynola Pardee, and her brother, Dr. Laurie Pardee and two great grandchildren, Barrett and Taytum Gocek.
